Tungnath Temple Trek

Tungnath

The highest Shiva temple in the world at 3680m — Tungnath is one of the Panch Kedar and over 1000 years old. The 3.5km paved path from Chopta is one of the most rewarding short treks in India, winding through rhododendron forests that blaze red in April-May. Unlike the full Chandrashila summit push, this is accessible to families and casual walkers. The temple itself is a masterpiece of Garhwali stone architecture.
