Sammed Shikhar Festival

Shikharji

Annual fair at Shikharji (Sammed Shikhar, Parasnath Hill) drawing large numbers of Jain devotees. Pilgrims ascend the sacred hill to visit 20+ temples and shrines commemorating the 20 Tirthankaras who attained nirvana here.

Sarhul

Ranchi

Spring festival marking the tribal new year, celebrated primarily by Oraon, Munda, and Ho tribes. Involves worship of the Sal tree (abode of Sarna Maa) with offerings of flowers, fruits, vermilion, and rooster. Processions organized in Ranchi since 1961; features traditional dances with Sal flowers.

Mahavir Jayanti

Shikharji

Birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir, the 24th Tirthankara. At Shikharji, devotees participate in processions, scripture recitations, and charitable meals. Pilgrimage to Shikharji is particularly significant during this festival.

Shravani Mela

Deoghar

One of India largest Shiva pilgrimages. Millions of Kanwariyas carry Ganga water from Sultanganj to Deoghar Baidyanath.

Chhath Puja at Netarhat

Netarhat

Tribal Chhath celebrations at Jharkhand hill station. Combines Bihar tradition with Jharkhand tribal elements.
