November opens Dudhwa's season properly. Temperatures: 12-28°C, comfortable for all-day safaris. The grasslands begin drying, visibility improves weekly, and the full wildlife roster becomes active: tigers, rhinos, leopards, barasingha, fishing cats, otters, and 450+ bird species.

Stay inside the national park — wake up to tiger territory. Basic rooms but the forest dept staff are knowledgeable guides. Book 2 months ahead. The dawn forest walk from your doorstep is unmatched.

Buffet breakfast is the safest start before a 6am safari; ask the kitchen for a packed lunch box if your safari runs long. The Tharu-style thali is the local-distinctive dish — most lodges don't bother with regional cuisine.
