December Christmas at Medak Cathedral is a South India landmark celebration
Live in Medak
The Telangana Tourism Haritha hotel built right against the walls of Medak Fort, with well-kept suites and open-air dining under the heritage backdrop. The practical base for visiting Medak Cathedral — one of Asia's largest churches — and the fort, a short drive apart in the same town.
SignatureTelangana-style biryani and family meals
Medak has only a few real restaurants — Vindhu Vihar is the safe sit-down choice for a full meal between the Cathedral and the Fort. Order the biryani or a Telangana-style meal. Walk-in; busiest at lunch on weekends.
SignatureMutton biryani
The mutton biryani is the dish regulars rate; the place gets crowded and oily-spicy at peak, so come slightly off-lunch. Its position opposite the bus depot makes it the natural arrival or departure meal. Cash and UPI.
SignatureIndian veg and non-veg meals
A reasonable second choice when Vindhu Vihar is full. Standard South and North Indian menu — meals, biryani and tiffins. Walk-in only; confirm timings as a small-town kitchen can vary.
