A 28 sq km high-altitude meadow at 3,000-3,500m above Barsu/Raithal villages, 32km from Uttarkashi. In winter it's one of the few accessible snow-trek meadows in Garhwal; in summer it's wildflower-thick — primulas, asters, brahma kamal in late August. The peaks visible include Bandarpunch, Black Peak (Kalanag) and Srikanth — the same sweep that Sankri/Har Ki Dun trekkers travel further to see. Best: Apr-Jun (greens), Aug-Sep (flowers — late monsoon), Oct-Nov (clear skies), Dec-Feb (snow trek with operator). Avoid heavy monsoon Jul.. Reach: Drive 32km from Uttarkashi to Raithal village (1.5 hours). 7km uphill trek from Raithal (4-5 hours one-way) or 5km from Barsu. Camp permitted.. Tip: Easy-to-moderate trek; OK for first-timers with reasonable fitness. KMVN huts at Dayara top. Carry warm layers — the meadow gets cold even in summer. NIM Uttarkashi or local guides (~Rs 1500-2500/day). Don't camp inside the meadow proper — use the designated edges to protect the grass..
