Pampa Triveni Sangam and Bathing Ghat.
Pilgrims who fly to Madurai/Cochin and helicopter to Sannidhanam (₹15,000-25,000/seat) bypass Pampa entirely. The Pampa Triveni — where the Pampa, Kakkad, and Achankovil rivers meet — is the traditional pre-Sannidhanam ritual bath site; trekking pilgrims start here. The ghat is at the base of the 5km Sannidhanam trek, but elaborate Devaswom-Board signage focuses on the temple steps (18 holy steps / pathinettam padi), not the ghat.WHY NOBODY KNOWS
Confluence point of three rivers below the trek to Sannidhanam — the ritual snan (bath) here is the first stage of the Sabarimala yatra after the 41-day vratham. Pampa Ganapathy temple sits 50m above the ghat; pilgrims offer Naivedyam before starting the trek. The Pampa river-island Pulinkadu (250m offshore) is where pilgrims float their irumudi (sacred two-pouch bundle) symbolically. Open 24h during Mandala season (Nov 15 - Dec 26) and Makaravilakku (Jan 14); restricted access offseason.
