Son Bhandar Caves.
Rajgir's tourist circuit runs Vulture's Peak / Vishwa Shanti Stupa / hot springs / ropeway / Nalanda University Center — Son Bhandar sits off that arc, and the legend of buried gold means it's catalogued more as a folk story than as a heritage site.WHY NOBODY KNOWS
Two artificial caves with the polished surfaces typical of Mauryan-era rock cutting, with a Gupta-era inscription crediting a Jain monk Vairadeva. The 'son bhandar' (gold store) name refers to a 4th-century inscription suggesting a hidden treasure chamber that no excavation has found. The caves are small — 15 minutes is enough — but the inscription wall is genuine Mauryan-Gupta archaeology.
