Andretta Artist Village (Andretta Pottery + Norah's Centre).
Palampur is sold as tea-gardens-and-Dhauladhar. Andretta is a working artist hamlet 13 km away with no signposting before the village turn-off, so coach groups skip it. The pottery studio takes walk-ins but only by polite enquiry, not advertising.WHY NOBODY KNOWS
A creative settlement founded in the 1930s by Irish dramatist Norah Richards, who built a mud-and-bamboo cottage and turned the village into a literary-theatre hub. Andretta Pottery (1983), India's oldest functional studio pottery, is run by Mansimran 'Mini' Singh and Mary Singh - they sell to FabIndia and offer a 45-minute walk-in pottery experience. Sir Sobha Singh's art gallery and Norah's restored mud house are within a 1 km loop.
