Chandrabhaga is 3km east of the Sun Temple — most temple visitors skip it, unaware that the ASI marks this beach as the original ancient port that gave Konark its maritime fame.WHY NOBODY KNOWS
On Magha Saptami (7th day of Magh, ~Feb), the beach hosts a seven-day fair where millions of devotees bathe at sunrise to invoke Surya. The rest of the year it's an empty 12km stretch with fishermen, casuarina groves and no tourists.
