The world's largest Olive Ridley arribada (mass nesting) site — up to 600,000 turtles arrive between February and March each year. Only 2 sites on Earth host arribada at this scale (the other is Ostional, Costa Rica). Forest Dept Dolphin Cottages have windows angled at the beach, and the arribada window is the only time of year visitors are allowed within 200m of nesting females.
