Pariyadeva Pashan.
Most Binsar visitors only do Zero Point and the KMVN; Pariyadeva sits 7-8km off the sanctuary road with no signage in English and no entry kiosk.WHY NOBODY KNOWS
A megalithic stone alignment from roughly 1500-500 BCE on the Almora-Binsar road — long stones carved with cup-marks that nobody has fully deciphered. On the winter solstice the rising sun aligns with one of the stones. Plus you get the same uninterrupted Nanda Devi-Trisul-Panchachuli line you came to Binsar for, with maybe two other people there. Best: Oct-Mar for clear skies; the winter solstice (Dec 21-22) is the alignment day. Reach: On the Almora-Binsar road, ~33km from Almora town and 8km before the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary gate. Ask locally for 'Pariyadeva' — Google Maps pin is approximate.. Tip: No fee, no facilities — bring water and a hat. Pre-dawn arrival for the sunrise alignment in winter; the stones are spread across a ridge, so allow an hour to walk between them..
